Here is a joke I recently found published on a web page.
One day, a dog died, and the owner went to his pastor and said, "Pastor,
my
dog is dead. Could there be a service for the poor creature?" The
pastor
replied, "I'm afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal
in
the church. But there is a new church down the road, and there's no
telling'
what they believe. Maybe they'll...l do something for the animal;
you
can go and find out". Then the man answered innocently, "I'll go
right
away Pastor. But do you think they will accept a donation of
$250,000
as being enough in return for the burial service?"
The Pastor
exclaimed, "Sweet Jesus! Why didn't you tell me the dog was a
Christian..........?
After laughing I got to thinking, truth is stranger than fiction and the reason why am laughing is because this joke hits closer to home than I thought.I can say that ninety percent of so so called MOG would have done the same thing as the pastor in the story. Some would have even been worse as the Dog owner would have been a well renown church member preferably an elder or a deacon and the service would have been held.
Now before you criticize me,am an animal lover but that's as far as it goes,no hugs and kisses from me if you have fur,I am just not that white.Any person who is educated enough to use his reasoning capability I must admit has very little regard to his pastor when it comes to matters that seem non-religious.Lets be practical who among you has gone to ask for counsel from your pastor on matters pertaining to running a business when its doing well, most just go when the profits have tanked. When did you discuss with your pastor about a job offer you have gotten or an employment opportunity which pays well?Well the blame does not lie on you totally, most of the pastors are schooled in theology and even some are not but on running a business are as daft as they come so you tell me on matters pertaining to Law ,with all the jargon involved are you seriously going to rely on the pastors judgement?
Jesus advise come to mind, first remove the Log from your eyes before removing the spec from your brothers eyes so you can see better and just in paraphrasing so that they also can see an examples from you.Talk of the vile's found in Government,Corruption which is most rampant is also found in the church, misappropriation of fund, wow this is so visibly seen that I cant say it all in the church,Salary increment in tough economic condition, just look at the hefty checks church leaders take home and the cars they drive. Some of the people who ball the most are children of Pastors and manipulation of people,I must say pastors are more skillful than politicians. How else do you explain how The dishonorable Bishop Wanjiru is still able to retain follower after she has been found guilty but a court of law for stealing election.Seriously if she stole the election ,that's is big time so what else has she stole because not thief starts big,it always small so since I do not listen to my MP and neither do I listen to my pastor am at a crossroad here.Abstaining from voting is a stupid action because that is just as simple as voting only unconsciously so the decision rests on me and that is why I still think we are being played here. There is no clause on which I can sue the government but I think they have realized the gimmicks up and Kenyans will actually read the draft unlike in 2003 and make up there own minds. There is no orange and banana this time and they are capitalizing on the Kenyans hunger for a new constitution.Lets hope am wrong and you will see the circulation out soon.
